StoryStory of CIMAP
Our story begins
With 12 years of experience in ball bearing manufacturing, Marc ZELVEYAN founded the Compagnie Industrielle de Mécanique et d’Articles de Précision, now simply known as CIMAP.
From the very beginning, the company set up its offices in the Porte de Champerret district (Paris 17th), where our headquarters are still located today.
CIMAP quickly specialized in the production of steel balls and rollers—essential components for bearing manufacturing and widely used in mechanical and industrial applications.Industrial wheels distributor in France
Alongside the development of balls and rollers, CIMAP became the official distributor of VORWERK industrial wheels in France.
This activity was transferred in 2005 to the Swedish group TRELLEBORG.
The CIMAP product range expands
Plastic balls and plastic bearings were introduced to enrich the CIMAP range, followed by new products over the years: ceramic balls, transmission components including HEYD and DURBAL rod ends and clevis joints (added in 1972), and KORDEL gearboxes (introduced in 1993), all contributing to a broader and more comprehensive product offering.
Christophe ZEVEYAN joins CIMAP
Christophe ZEVEYAN joined CIMAP and gradually took over operational management.
New logistics center
CIMAP opened its new logistics center in Garges-lès-Gonesse (Val-d’Oise, France).
The facility was fully completed in 2000.

KORDEL gearboxes were added to the product range, further expanding CIMAP’s offering.
Chinese and indian manufacturers
CIMAP began building partnerships with Asian manufacturers, particularly in China and India, mainly for ball production.
Subsidiary in China
